I continue to see a lot of inquiries and posts on rental cars so will try one more time to give my experience:
BEWARE; If you buy "their" insurance then you invalidate your credit card insurance.
NOTE: Availability from Hertz can be limited at times and their prices change almost by the day during high season. If on line booking is a pain, just call their toll free #.
NOTE: I have no affiliation with Hertz and in fact use Budget exclusively in US as I had a Budget rental in Philadephia on 9/11 and Budget let me drive home (no airline transport remember?) to WA at no additional mileage or drop charge!

1. I only use Hertz. Why?
2. Because I use a Platinum Visa card and that comes with collision/comp. Yes, I have it in writing that this coverage is good in MX.
3. With Hertz, you get an automatic $35,000 USD liability policy with the rental. Yes, I have it in writing from Hertz that it is good in MX. Yes, it is on the Hertz rental contract used in ZIH.
4. I have never had Hertz in ZIH pressure me in any way for additional insurance. ALL OF the OTHER companies will use any ruse that works to sell the insurance even to the point of refusing to rent if you don't buy their insurance.
